History
Many years ago, there was a large “Friends Group” in Rome comprised of members of the LGBTQ+ community. They planned many social events and even had a monthly newsletter – The Grapevine – that was mailed out to their members. One of the most memorable events that the friends group held was their annual Friendship Feast – a potluck celebration that allowed everyone to come together to count their blessings with their chosen family. In talking with the original organizers, it was obvious that this event was so impactful for those in the LGBTQ+ community who needed connection and family. Over the years, their attendance at this event rose to over 150 people and became an exciting and memorable event for the LGBTQ+ community and those who loved them.
